Distinguished Lecture Series

The QMC Distinguished Lecture Series was created to attract the world's top researchers to Maryland. The series of seminars - which includes a Physics Department Colloquium lecture, a QMC Condensed Matter Colloquium lecture and other special seminars - is extended through a week-long visit in order to allow ample interaction with QMC members, affiliates and others interested in interacting with the distinguished visitor.

QMC Internal Symposium

QMC (formerly CNAM) hosts an annual day-long symposium for all full and affiliate members. The event is primarily planned as an idea-sharing activity to promote cross-pollination of ideas and possible collaborations among our group, as well as brainstorming activity to discuss future research directions, funding and center activities.QMC members are invited to give a presentation on ideas and preliminary research, rather than well-established or published work, in order to fulfill this mission and to provide the perfect ingredients for a fruitful event.
